Often when an Emergency Task Force is deployed to a scene there are chemicals used in order to apprehend the unwilling. Tear Gas and Pepper Spray are the two most common ones. When either one of these chemicals is used indoors the decontamination process is extremely complicated. Tear Gas and Pepper Spray serve to apprehend the unwilling by causing them extreme discomfort. After the smoke clears, however, the hazardous residues remain. Our technicians are trained to use protective equipment to minimize their risk of exposure to these chemicals that linger and cling to the physical structure ( i.e. dry wall, ceilings, carpets). Usually every single inanimate object requires individual cleaning, not to mention the entire HVAC system.
DO NOT attempt to decontaminate the premises unless you are properly trained as you will experience the same symptoms that the unwilling do. Only trained technicians, such as our staff, should even attempt to begin the decontamination process
In addition to these chemicals, vomit, urine, feces and blood are just some of the "Biohazardous Infectious Materials", (WHMIS CLASS D, DIVISION 3), that are present at these scenes.
This is a very complicated and lengthy cleaning procedure that requires experienced professionals. Please feel free to contact us.
After a "Forensic Identification Team" is finished with a scene there is MUCH to clean up. From a simple break and enter to a home invasion to a homicide there is more than meets the eye. Only trained professionals such as our staff should even attempt to clean up a post forensic scene. Finger print dust is one of the biggest issues that our trained staffs have to deal with after a forensic team are finished working a scene. There are HUNDREDS of different types of fingerprint dust.
NOTE: Do not attempt to remove this material unless you are trained. Do not initially wet or walk over this material as the furnishings that have come into contact with this material WILL be damaged.
